WEDDING VENUE EAST LOTHIAN
You'll never forget where you say "I do", so let it be somewhere you actually love.
Eskmills is a restored Victorian mill on the banks of the River Esk in Musselburgh - a wedding venue near Edinburgh that's about 20 minutes from the city centre. It's light-filled, full of character, and surrounded by gardens — the kind of place that looks beautiful without needing much else. We've been hosting weddings here for over a decade, and every single one has been different. That's the point.
Whether you're planning a big celebration with 300 guests or something smaller and more personal, we'll help you put together a day that feels like yours, not a template.

The Spaces
Eskmills has three main areas that all work together on your wedding day.
The Mill is where most ceremonies and receptions happen. It's a big, bright room with high ceilings, original arched windows, and white walls that catch the light beautifully. It works just as well for 80 guests as it does for 300. Dress it up with draping and fairy lights, or keep it simple and let the room speak for itself.
The Eden Garden is our outdoor ceremony space. A stone walkway leads up to a raised decked stage framed by trees, with a summerhouse behind for signing the register. It's peaceful, green, and a completely different feel from the mill, perfect for humanist and civil ceremonies when the weather plays along.
The Courtyard sits between the mill and the garden. It's where guests naturally gather for drinks after the ceremony, and it's where you'll get some of your best photos, old stone walls, festoon lights, and the willow tree.
You also get a private retreat room for the morning, somewhere to get ready, have a quiet moment, or just escape the noise for five minutes when you need it.
Every wedding at Eskmills comes with exclusive use of the whole venue.
Food & Drink
We work with three catering partners, each with their own style, and all of them brilliant:
Weddings by Saltire · Jo's Kitchen · Really Delicious
They'll work with you on menus, tastings, dietary needs, and everything in between. Whether you want a formal sit-down meal, a sharing feast, or something completely different, they'll sort it.
We've also got a fully licensed bar that stays open until 12:30am, and we can put together bespoke drinks packages - welcome cocktails, champagne towers, whatever you're after.
Getting Here
We're in Musselburgh, 20 minutes from Edinburgh city centre by car, or a 7-minute train from Waverley to Musselburgh station. There's free parking on site with EV charging, and we're right next to National Cycle Routes 1 and 76.
For guests coming from further away, there are plenty of hotels and B&Bs nearby in Musselburgh and along the East Lothian coast. We're happy to share a list of places we'd recommend.
