Winterland @ Eskmills Venue, East Lothian is popping up throughout the Festive period.

We will be open on the following dates;

Wednesday 23rd Dec 12-6pm
Christmas Eve 12-6pm
(Last table bookings 5pm)

Thereafter our Winterland will be closed in line with Government restrictions.

Our very own glittering wonderland features Christmas market-style food and drink, twinkling lights and decorated trees, a heated festive marquee, plus fire pits, outdoor drinks and hot snacks or indoor tables for main meals.

Pop in after a hard day’s shopping; meet a friend for a catch up; treat the kids to some pretzels or toasted marshmallows, tuck into traditional German street food or a gourmet burger; whatever you fancy, we’ll be open across the holiday period.

Important Information

  • From Friday 16th Dec at 6pm, East Lothian will move into Level 3, we ask that customers please follow all government legislation regarding travel.
  • The current social distancing rules still apply: you can sit with your family or the other people permitted in your ‘social bubble’, but you must not be a group of more than 6 people from a maximum of two households.
  • Please wear a mask on arrival and when moving around the venue – masks can be removed when seated and to enjoy our scrumptious food and drink
  • Remember FACTS and please follow the rules for everyone’s safety.

Booking and reservations

  • Tables are for a maximum of 6 (from two households) for a 2 hour session. Children under 12 are not included in the rule of 6.
  • To avoid queues we are strongly recommending you book in advance, however we will try and keep a small number of tables available for people arriving without reservations. There’s no charge to book a table, but if you are more than 10 minutes late your booking will be cancelled and your table given to those without reservations.
  • Tickets are only valid for the session you book for.
  • Drinks and food are ordered through an easy-to-use app. Orders are per table, not per person.

What happens when you arrive?

  • There may be queues on your arrival. If so, please stay 2 metres apart, follow the one-way signage systems and stay behind the barriers.
  • All guests need to register their contact details on arrival. This is a compulsory part of the Scottish Government policy to allow us to open.  Once you have been assigned a table, you must not leave your table or choose a different one. This will be your seat for the duration of your visit. Tables are set in socially distanced positions and must not be moved.

How do you order food and drink?

  • Once you arrive and are seated at your table either inside or out, use the app to order from our drinks list and food and snacks menu. Orders can only be taken and paid for per table, not individually.
  • We cannot accept any cash payments. All payments will be cashless, made via a variety of contactless systems. We accept Apple Pay, Android Pay and all major debit cards.

Who can join in?

  • Eskmills Venue is a safe and family-friendly environment and children are very welcome. We have a menu just for kids. Remember to include them in your numbers when booking if they need their own seat.
  • No under 18s will be served any alcohol. We operate a Challenge 25 policy so if you’re under 25, don’t forget to bring your ID or we won’t be able to serve you. Due to government restrictions, we can no longer serve alcohol after 6pm from Friday the 18th Dec due to East Lothian moving into Level 3. 

What we are doing to keep everyone safe

  • We’ve  been awarded a ‘We’re Good to Go’ certificate by VisitBritain which is the official UK mark to signal that a tourism and hospitality business has worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
  • As well as the social distancing measures explained above, there will be a one way system, cleansing stations with hand sanitiser, and a continuous hygiene service throughout the day, with intensive cleaning of surfaces and touch points.
  • Staff will complete a daily health declaration, and temperature check so we know everyone is fit, well and able to work.

What we ask of you

  • We want to offer a fun Christmas destination with fantastic food and drink and a relaxed atmosphere for everyone to enjoy getting together socially. But we can only operate if we all respect the current legislation and play by the rules, so we ask everyone to respect the safe environment we’ve set up and our booking/ordering/paying systems so we can all have a good time together.
  • Also we do ask that if you have any symptoms of being unwell, or if you are living with anyone showing symptoms, please stay at home. Thank you for your co-operation.
