Spring has sprung and there’s a host of new wedding trends you need to know about for planning your big day in 2016. As the second installment in our trend series, this week we’ll be looking at music, décor and drink trends.
It’s no longer just about choosing that great traditional band or picking a great DJ. How about doing something a little different? You could hire a cabaret singer for cocktail hour, a retro orchestra to play while you’re having dinner or a dance act to perform during the reception. We think this is a great way to surprise your guests and make your special day even more memorable.
Rose gold is expected to be a huge trend for 2016, especially in drink trends. You could also use this in your food, on the icing of your cake or offer rose-hued cocktails to your guests, rose wine at tables and a rose champagne for the toasts.
Why not share both your favourite tipples with a ‘his and hers’ theme for your drinks reception. As well as being a fantastic conversation starter, this is ideal if you’re on a budget as it’s a lot more cost effective than having an open bar!
Beer gardens have also been a growing trend recently. Why not take this to the next step? You could have a gin bar, champagne garden or martini bar with fresh juices as mixers. You’ll have everyone talking about what a great unique feature this is and your guests will all be wanting to use this as inspiration for their next event! Eskmills is the perfect location for this, with a gorgeous courtyard containing a stunning water feature. We have a variety of pop up bars that we can set up for you as well.
Come next week for the latest post on our spring wedding trends for 2016 series, where we’ll be looking at trends in wedding food. Yum! You won’t want to miss it, trust us.
