Summer Wedding Party
Congratulation to Wedding Belles Jamie Harrison and Sarah Tulloch who married at Eskmills on Saturday 11th with a last minute switch to an outside wedding!
Jamie and Sarah got married outside in our garden as the sun came out an hour just before the ceremony – eek! Our team made the switch look effortless! They theme of the day was butterflies and the couple named their tables after them.
The Eskmills grounds sit beside the River Esk and offer beautiful views and a peaceful, safe environment for a marriage. Children can run around, drinks can be enjoyed on the lawns and the photography options are tripled around the building. When the Scottish weather prevails, an outside wedding really can turn a good wedding into a great wedding. Nothing beats the Scottish sunshine – it’s the goldilocks preference, not too hot and not too cold. This was a great example of how to manage a wedding and update the setting on the day.
Wedding Breakfast
Guests were treated to canapes including: haggis bon-bons with whisky marmalade, smoked venison loin with red onion marmalade and seared tuna loin with pickled pink ginger and wasabi. Main courses included: chicken breast topped with smoked bacon, shallot and mushroom cream sauce with fondant potatoes, roasted topside of beef served with turned potato fondant, steamed vegetables and a shallot jus and a vegetarian option of lasagne of creamed cauliflower and poached leeks with a rich mull cheddar glaze.
Their cake was handmade by Jamie’s grandmother (Grandma Harrison). To keep the different tiers separated, she used the exact same pillars that were used on her wedding cake and Jamie’s parents wedding cake – what a lovely idea!
The wedding was photographed by Derek Christie.
