The New Year is now underway, and with it comes a whole new wave of fabulous wedding trends. So whether you’re newly engaged, or getting married in 2015, have a read of our Event Coordinator’s predictions for the coming year. 1. Rustic themes
Rustic is going to be a big wedding trend for us this year, with an emphasis on homespun décor, DIY wedding favours, and more. It can be extended throughout the menu, too, with sharing platters, family style service and decadent dessert tables!
2. Soft lighting
Distinctive lighting has always been one of the most important factors for a gorgeous wedding, and can really set the scene. Here at our Wedding Venue, we can transform the space with our stunning fairy light curtain, coloured uplighters and pin-spotting of tables – soft, romantic and right on trend. Other options could be bare light bulbs, candles and storm lanterns – each adding a unique bit of atmosphere.
3. Everything in miniature
Mini afternoon treats are going to be popular choices for summer wedding drinks receptions – mini scones, mini fancies and small sandwiches all served on our vintage cake stands. But you don’t have to limit yourself to sweet treats – how about mini burgers, pies, or even mini Bloody Marys?
4. Subtle colour palettes
The theme for Pantone’s top colour picks for spring 2015 weddings is En Plein Air, meaning “in the open air”. Think gentle pastel hues and blush-coloured bridal gowns. Aquamarine will be present everywhere next wedding season, and tones beautifully with cream, gold or other shades of blue. Alternatively, lime green, yellow or peach would provide a striking contrast.
5. Romantic flowers
2015’s wedding flowers will be very feminine and soft. Peonies, garden roses and even pearls and diamantes will add some romance to the occasion. Wildflowers are also still popular, especially in bouquets of muted tones with a pop of vivid pink or orange.
