Eskmills is becoming more and more popular for a variety of Asian celebrations. This two part blog series looks at the Asian wedding scene and the trends that are emerging for spring 2016. This last instalment focuses on colours and a few other trends we think you’ll like.

One of the biggest pieces of news for 2016 is the announcement of two new Pantone colours, Rose Quartz and Serenity. Rose Quartz is a salmon-blush hue which is seen as persuasive yet gentle. Serenity is a stunning blue-lilac tone which give the feeling of being light, airy and weightless. We’re expecting to see lots weddings using these colours this year. We’d suggest only using hints of them though, to ensure they still look grown up.

You’ll really shine this year, with metallics appearing as the most versatile trend. Brides are spotted in shimmering dresses in a range of gold tones, from head to toe, to the more subtle gold details. After all, every bride wants to feel like a Queen on her wedding day. This can also be incorporated into décor details with tea light candles and lanterns.

These days, a wedding hashtag is as important as a physical wedding photographer. This is a great little quirk to personalise your social media presence and create some unexpected memories to look back on. We’d suggest choosing a hashtag that isn’t being used by anyone else, so that the images being used on it are relevant and meaningful. Make sure you let guests know what hashtag to use when they take pictures so that no one misses the chance to share any great photo opportunities. You could print the hashtag onto napkins, or put it in small frames on tables for the guests to see.

Don’t forget your wedding favours. Not only are these well wishes from the newlyweds, these are also a small token of appreciation for guests for the time and effort they’ve taken for the couple’s big day. Our exclusive caterers, Hickory, could create a sweet treat to give guests. How tasty!
